COMMODORE’S CORNER

Season’s Greetings!

I am pleased to report our proposed 2023 operating budget was approved at the December General Membership meeting. A big thanks to our board of directors and our finance committee chaired by Larry Girouard. Special thanks to our vice commodore Steve Dolan and business manager Lynn Kelly for their efforts. As a result, we were provided with a conservative balanced budget for 2023.

For the second year in a row, the Newport Parade of Lights had to be cancelled due to poor weather conditions and high winds. However, this did not stop Santa from arriving at the club for the children’s’ Christmas party. I have been told this might have been the largest turnout ever!!!  The adult Christmas party on December 3rd was completely sold out, with a waiting list. The band, food and service was outstanding. Great job, Laura, Audrey, Chip, Lynn and Tim, our chef and our entire staff.

Lastly, the latest up-to-date bylaws are now on our website, thanks Roy.

Wishing you and your families a happy and safe holiday season and a healthy New Year.

Bob and Rosalie
