General Membership Meeting

May 26, 2022 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

The May 2022 General Membership Meeting will take place on Thursday May 26, 2022, at 7pm. (delayed from 5 May)

The purpose of the meeting will be to inform the general membership of various aspects of Club Operations, to take membership comment, and to vote on appropriate matters.

The Treasurer’s financial report on the preceding fiscal year and the second reading of the proposed Bylaw change are on the agenda.
There will be a second reading of the proposed by law addition: PROPOSED CHANGE made by Tom Malott Jr.:
Article IV Board of Directors
Section 1. The Board of Directors is defined as the Flag Officers, the Secretary, the Treasurer, the chairpersons of all committees as listed in Article XII Section 1, and four members at-large. All members of the Board of Directors must be voting members of the Club.
The outgoing Commodore after finishing his/her term shall not serve in any position on the Board of Directors for a period of two years.
There will be a first reading of the proposed Float and Dock By-Law changes:
1.Request the BOD’s support of a By Law change that would eliminate the last sentence of Article XIX, Paragraph 1. This would eliminate the 15-name restriction of the number of names on the summer slip wait list.
2. Eliminate the same 15 name restriction in the F&D R&Rs which is only there so that people can get the whole story without reading the By Laws as well as the F&D R&Rs.
3. Propose a F&D R&R that lists the date a person on the wait list got displaced (Displaced date). And list the date a person was assigned a slip on the slip assignment list (Assignment Date).
These dates would be used to determine whether a person that has a slip can move to a larger slip or not. If their slip assignment date was prior to the next person on the wait list that is displaced, they could move to the larger slip. If the displacement date of the person on the wait list was earlier than the person requesting the move, the move request would be denied thus allowing the displaced person to select the available slip.
4. Correct the wording in the F&D R&Rs that describe the method of assigning dock space on the South side of the Main Dock. The procedure from the 2018 rules was copied incorrectly to the revised rules of 2021.
The rule in question now reads:
Members will be notified via an e-mail blast on the second Tuesday following the General Membership Meeting in December of the space available on this dock.
It should read:
Members will be notified via an e-mail blast on the last Thursday of November of the availability of this dock.
